We aim to achieve the following objectives:
- to collect and generate new statistical data on the resources as well as on the female users of these services, as well as to refine the existing data in the entities that work with these women on a daily basis;
- to identify the factors involved in gender inequality in the use of these resources;
- to elaborate and propose instruments and concrete measures to increase the use of available services by women with MHD.
To achieve these objectives, a mixed methodology will be used, integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches in a community-based participatory framework.
The research results will offer specific improvement opportunities for the involved entities, as well as for other similar institutions.
These results will be materialised in the following outcomes:
- review of internal practices;
- production of information material with a gender perspective;
- promotion of a dialogue with various agents, as well as the dissemination of good practices.
The transfer plan will be developed in three phases:
- presentation and dissemination of results;
- awareness-raising and improvement of professionals' training;
- dissemination of information material to companies, centres and relevant organisations.
Overall, the expected findings, supported by the experience and strength of the institutions involved in this research (URV's Social Anthropology Group, which has been researching gender inequality, social intervention and mental health for years; Pere Mata Foundation and CHM Mental Health Foundation, with extensive experience and trajectory in specialised care and rehabilitation in mental health) will contribute significantly to understanding and addressing the gender gap in mental health and labour market insertion, improving the health, quality of life and well-being of women with MHD thanks to the multiple benefits already reported on participation in labour market insertion pathways.
